We don’t leave for the honeymoon until a week after the wedding so we are staying in a hotel, having family brunch, and then going home!

We met up for some breakfast with out of town guests. (Not a big planned thing but just a little breakfast at a cafe.) And then did nothing for the rest of the day. It was great! You’ll be so tired from the wedding, you’ll want a nice, stress-free day.

@linnylou_88  We’re marrying beginning of August, and honeymooning September/October as we get much more bang for our buck by delaying and avoiding the school holidays.

The day and night after, we’re staying at our venue; although we’re staying there the night of the wedding, our reception will be going on until LATE (we’ll probably be up until about 3am), and we won’t get much sleep, or any chance to enjoy our beautiful honeymoon suite. So, we plan to breakfast with our guests the following morning, then head into town for some shopping, before heading back and relaxing in a room with champagne before a leisurely dinner, and, likely, an early night! 😉

@linnylou_88  Uhhh the day after our wedding I am not moving from the bedroom in the hotel …. seriously!!! We are ordering room service, having sex, watching a stupid film on the laptop, having sex, talking to each other and reconnecting after the wedding and ….. having sex.

After all that were doing a roadtrip (Im English and we are Destination Wedding so Im super excited about this), stopping off wherever we please along the way.

we’re the same as you OP

our wedding being the 27th of december were not going straight on honeymoon either, because we wanted to spend a few days with family and friends that will have come down for the wedding.

but we’re going to do a minimoon for new years eve in edinburgh and then go on honey moon in march-ish time, so that we get a few days to ourselves to relax 🙂

Sleep in!!!! If I could change anything about the day after our wedding it would have been to leave a little later in the day for our honeymoon, sleep in and enjoy our hotel. I was so tired the first day away was a blur, we had to wake up early and get on the road. Not having anything planned for the next day is great! Sleep in and recover, the wedding will take a lot out of you both.

We’re thinking of having a bridal party brunch day-after, then staying at the hotel for an additional night, or going to the airport hotel.

We had 4 weeks until our Honeymoon….we just went home and relaxed.  It was actually really nice to have time to get our lives back after all the wedding planning.  🙂 ON Sunday we had brunch with our families, then relaxed most of the day and talked about the wedding!

We slept in, had some more sex, had lunch at the hotel, went and collected our things from my parents’ house, and went home.  We had to work the next day so we needed a few hours to chill and unpack.  Our honeymoon wasn’t for a couple months.

We actually aren’t taking our honeymoon until fall of next year. we just got home from our wedding weekend and I LOVE how we did things!

We stayed at this gorgeous, quaint hotel for the weekend (Friday through Sunday). On Saturday we drove along the coast and hit up all of the state parks, did some shopping, then headed back to the room and watched the sun set over the water from the jacuzzi tub. We left on Sunday morning, and it was exactly what we both needed.
