How do you ladies feel about brides going into the registry and deleting small (lets say a $8.99 stainless mixing bowl) after the shower, if it was not purchased?
Is this considered rude? I feel like we added a bunch of “smaller” type gifts that we don’t necessarily need/want, and if we don’t get them after the shower…. I was thinking of going and deleting them off the registry.
I’m still going to leave items that people may want to purchase for wedding gifts that are under $50, some even $30, but I feel silly leaving a 9 dollar mixing bowl on the registry, when I have 6 mixing bowls already, and I just added it because I needed more “showery” gifts on there anyway.
Thoughts? Is this poor etiquette?

I uh…. deleted EVERYTHING that was left after my shower. We really only registered for the shower and/or early wedding gifts. Not only did we secretly only want cash/GCs, we also didn’t want to have to carry a bunch of gifts from the wedding.
No harm!

@eagle: I think you’re fine. As long as you’re keeping some reasonable priced items (like you said you would) there’s nothing wrong with editing the registry. I doubt anyone will notice, anyways!

@KristenGotMarried: I really want to delete EVERYTHING, except my china and crystal….. because we have a fully stocked kitchen already. But, my Mom said that I should keep ~$50 items on there, incase someone isn’t able to buy a $100 place setting. I’d rather have a gift card for $50…. but yeah.
Glad to know you did it too. I feel like I’ve put so much work into making sure the registry is so balanced, but really: I only really want the formal stuff.

I think you’re fine! I don’t really think people go to your registry before they’re ready to purchase something or hang on to lists of it. We plan on deleting most items after the shower except for a handful of things ranging in price. We will leave a few items there because there are always people who prefer a gift over cash/gift cards, but in general we don’t want to have to lug presents back after the wedding, and we don’t need that much stuff!

@candykiss: Date twins!
I’m glad I’m not the only one sneakily doing this. I mean I’m still going to leave a few things but not really.

After my shower I realized we had wayyyy too much on our registries. I went through them again and deleated anything I realized we didn’t really need. There’s still lots on there, but they’re definitely our preffered gifts.
