We had cherry coke cupcakes at our wedding and they were amazing! They were chocolate coca-cola cupcakes with a sweet cherry buttercream frosting. My husband and I are obessed with them! We had other flavors that were great too but those were our favorites!

merrymargaret :  Following! I’m stuck on wedding cake flavors for my small elopement. Was thinking marble cake with cream cheese frosting…is that too plain?

Have you ever had tres leches cake? It’s Mexican ( I’m not sure that it’s traditionally classified as a wedding cake) but it’s seriously amazing!!

Our groom’s cake was a coconut key lime cake and it was soooo good.

Also – our wedding cake was delicious. One tier of white cake with strawberry filling, one tier of lemon cake with raspberry filling, and (my faaaaav) chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese filling. With a really awesome almond buttercream over all the layers.

I’m laying in bed right now having drooly thoughts about caaaaaake.

I am such a cake person, so we are having tons of cake and four flavors – vanilla and chocolate fudge (I love the classics) but also almond blackberry and chocolate hazelnut. I’m so excited!

Not sure yet but we might have one main cake with multiple little cakes. Everyone in our family is very opinionated about their cake flavors! If it were soley up to me, I’d pick a weird combo like coconut espresso red velvet.

My FH, roommate and I all went to one of our local bakeries, and one of their choices is Honey Lavender: “vanilla cake lightly soaked with lavender syrup, filled with honey buttercream.” We ended up not going with it, since my FH wasn’t fond of it, but the roommate and I LOVED it.

Then again, the one we ARE going with is a three-layer vanilla cake: The bottom layer is simply filled with buttercream frosting, the second with buttercream and strawberries, and the top with a mixed-berry jam and more strawberries.

Our bottom layer was banana cake with chocolate hazelnut filling!  Love banana cake.

The other layers were chocolate with vanilla filling and apple with cinnamon filling.

I made my best friend’s wedding cake and was so proud of it.  Three tiers, each three layers, chocolate-vanilla-chocolate with strawberry filling between layers and frosted with Swiss meringue buttercream.  It looked pretty amateur but tasted awesome!

Fiance and I were looking into fun cake flavors and fillings, but we decided since it’s our wedding, we should just have our favorite type of cake (although it may be plain to some): chocolate cake with vanilla cream frosting!
