Perhaps some married Bees might be able to help. If your reception venue is at a hotel, inn, or resort and your accomodations at are at the same location, how do you leave for the evening?
Do you say goodbye to your guests at the end of the evening and go to your room? Just slip out quietly? Plan some sort of special exit?

@Cappugcino: The only wedding I’ve been to where this was the case, the bride & groom just slipped out quietly.
I suppose you could have everyone make like “walkway” from the reception area to the elevator. You could have cute little flags for them to wave or something. 🙂

I got married on the lawn of a hotel and stayed at the hotel. Basically I stayed right until the end of my reception but it was a destination wedding with only 45 people and the reception ended around 10:00 (so not many left before me anyways). We basically just hugged everyone and said goodnight and walked up to our room, no big “going away” or anything.

@MademoiselleL: Ours is a destination for all but two guests and we’re having only around 24 with a maximum end time of midnight. I think we might end up doing something like you did; but I wanted to find out what other Bees had done.
