For my Darling Husband, the war will never be over.  His job requires him to deploy no matter what’s going on in the world, or if things are happening that aren’t being broadcasted.  He’ll never see Afghanistan, Iraq, or anything like that, but his job is just as dangerous.  That’s been hard for me as a lot of people assume that military and deployments = Iraq + Afghan.  Not always…

I also wish we had Skype or mail… you’re very, very lucky!  I would give anything to have those things on a deployment.  But, such is the life!

My hubby is currently deployed. He’s been overseas 7 months now, and it really sucks, first deployment for the both of us. Luckily he has leave later in the month so now time seems to go by extremely slow now. Can’t wait to see him!

One of the most prized packages was a pillow cases with lipstick prints all over COVERED in my perfume. He said it was the only thing that smelled sweet over there.

*I dont want this to sound like bragging by any means so please don’t take it that way*

My Darling Husband is comming home on April 26th from his Final Deployment for 2.5 years WOOOHOOO! I am extatic at the moment, but I have totally been there with the deployment blues. He is in the coast guard so our deployments are  not quite as long as some of the Navy or Army ones but they are never fun. I am excited that we will have two years with no time appart (at least not due to the military) but I am honestly a little worried about what it will be like spending SO much time together. We have been together since early 2009, but we have never actually spend more than two months at a time in the same city. I am afraid something will be different and I can’t seem to shake the terror that we are great appart but what if we arn’t great together?!

@globalmargaret:  You won’t be! I mean that in the nicest most awesome way possible. But, seriously, I think it takes time to get back into the swing of things (or find a new swing) and there will be ups and downs. One of my biggest things to overcome was not thinking about running everytime there was an issue after being away for so long. (I’m totally not saying you’d run, I’m saying that was MY issue).

@aliavenue:  @BooRadley:  Thank you guys it really does mean alot to hear that it is possible. I am totally the kind that runs away screaming from any sort of conflict or confrontation so I feel I am going to have a similar problem as you aliavenue. I feel like I can discuss every emotion with him while he is away except this one becuase I don’t want him to feel like I am doubting us or anything silly like that. You gals are great I seriously don’t know what I would do without all your wisdom.

@aliavenue:  Ah, darn too. 🙁  I wish we were in the same situation, though, so we could vent to each other. 😉

@globalmargaret:  Aw, that’s so awesome!!  Enjoy your time together!!  I think going back to being together will be an adjustment, but you’ll do just fine.  Just be really open and honest with each other, and expect each other to have changed.  Just go from there, and enjoy every second you have together!
