We have received a few checks in the mail from guests that are not coming to our wedding. We would like to deposit the checks into my Fiance account. Most of the checks are made out to the both of us. We do not plan on opening a joint account and I do not plan on taking his name.
So how do I:
1. Deposit a check into my Fiance account when both of our names are written on the check
2. Sign my name when the check is issued to Mr and Mrs.

You both sign the check. Him once, you with your maiden name, and your potential new last name (if that’s how it’s addressed). You put the three signatures all on the back.

We got checks written out to the both of us, we both had to go into the bank to deposit into DH’s account. Hope that helps…
Just for fun, we were trying to deposit checks the day after our wedding/before we left on our honeymoon. Darling Husband went to the bank to deposit while I packed up our storage unit, they wouldn’t let him deposit and he had to come back and get me…now we’re running crazy late at this point. We get to the bank and I realize I took off my rings and left them in the storage unit…I took them off because my hands were getting nasty as I was hanging some flowers to dry out. We ran out of the bank and back to the storage unit. Found my rings…back to the bank. Then sped off to the airport…gahh! 🙂

Deposit them in the ATM or using a phone app rather than actually going to the bank and handing them to a human. Those e-transactions always go through, even with butchered names. Whereas when you actually hand the check to a bank teller … they start asking questions, haha.

@californiabride2013: All you have to do is take all the checks to the bank and both bring your ID’s and it will be taken care of. You just have to sign the check over to him.
ETA: Did this with Fiance last week.
