- Wedding: August 2014
I found my dream dress and my parents (after a very long ‘we’ll pay for the wedding’ contract backed out, leaving them and my Fiance to say that we should just get married at the courthouse because it’s cheaper, later turned around and said that they ‘absolutely had to pay for my dress’) are sending me the money to buy it because it’s on sale right now. In addition I am currently job hunting so I’m already feeling money stress.
At this point I just feel that buying my dress is a task to be done with. I’m going by myself (my parents and Bridesmaid or Best Man live in different states) and I thought I was fine with that, but right now I just can’t seem to get excited about the whole thing. I’m stressed about money, I’m stressed that everyone else is stressed about money (through they’re concerned about the cost of the wedding (we’re currently looking at $12,000 for a 38 person wedding in Laguna Beach, we live in LA but it’s too expensive there), and I just don’t feel like ‘dealing with it’ right now.
Anyone else ever feel that parts of their wedding are more of an obligation than actual fun?
