We were surprised at 38 weeks and 3 days with a beautiful baby boy…Kaiden Tye!
Tuesday I rushed around all morning with a sudden onset of nesting. I had been putting off stocking up on groceries so I went to Sams, Meijers, and Target. When I got home I felt this really urgent need to get everything tidied up around the house so I started putting away groceries, doing laundry and vacuuming. It was weird because I really couldn’t focus on just one thing and kept going from one thing to another. Around noon I started to get a little gush of fluid everytime I bent over. I told myself not to get excited at first and that it was probably nothing but after a while I was convinced it was the real thing. I kept doing housework until I finally decided to call the Dr and check in. They told me to come right in.
We went to our Drs office at 3:00 and were told to go straight to labor and delivery. They started me on pitocin to get the contractions going. Then they came in and told me that I couldn’t have an epidural. I started to get really scared at this point! Apparently my platelets dropped drastically since my last check. The chief anesthesiologist came in and talked to me tho and told me he would approve me getting the epidural anyway. That was a huge sigh of relief bc the pitocin contractions had a good burn going by this point.
I asked for my epidural at 8:10 and by the time I got it at 8:30 I was in a serious world of pain. But by 9:00 I was happy as could be. My epidural took perfectly! I had good leg movement and could still feel pressure to know when to push. We started pushing around midnight and he was born at 0116 on Wednesday morning.
It was so amazing! I can’t believe that he is finally here!
Thanks for all the great support that we have gotten on here!
