I think it’s going to look lovely! The mold you have is already really pretty, so I imagine the actual band will be even more beautiful 🙂 I personally love seeing more gold than bling, so I don’t think it’s too plain to go with your engagement ring.

Gorgeous!!! I’m on the fence about adding the milgrain. I almost worry it will take away from all the other beautiful details on the ring, you know? But I also love the look of milgrain, so it’s a tough call!

@CinqueTerre:  *GASP*!! I LOVE it!!! Such a pretty design. Even in wax mold form, it looks delicate and detailed. And I love how it looks with your Engagement Ring.

Personally, I wouldn’t add the milgraine. I think that detail would be really pretty from the side view. But it would obscure the cherry blossom design and detail from the above view.

I love it!  As for the milgrain…it would depend on the milgrain.  I’d like super fine milgrain  (which I believe is done by hand).

@CinqueTerre:  Oh. I’m changing my opinion based on the picture you posted. I think really fine/small milgrain like in your example picture just on the very top edge (the knife?) would be pretty. DK’s team does gorgeous milgrain work. It would look somewhat “busy” from the top view, but I don’t think it would be overly so. (I am keeping in mind that the wax mold is thicker than the actual ring will be and that the floral design looks “chunkier” (is that the right word?) than it would in the actual metal band.)

I’m super excited to see the finished piece!

@CinqueTerre:  That is stunning! I love it! But I can’t stand milgrain….!

I would still not get the milgrain, but that is my personal taste. You sound like you really want it, so go ahead. Worst case scenario is that you hate it and can get it removed. Many of us have done crazier things cool

@CinqueTerre:  That milgrain is really nicely done.  I think it would look perfect.  It’s a great subtle detail imo.

It will be gorgeous either way. If you may be wearing the band solo a lot I’d ask DK what the risk is of flattening out milgrain on the knife edge with daily wear, or causing it to wear unevenly.
