I know, that generally speaking, designer rings are over-priced and you pay a premium for the name more than anything. BUT sometimes, I do think the price can be justified, if the rings are handmade, especially detailed or cannot be easily replicated.
So if you decided to splurge and buy a designer setting, which designer do you think is most worth it? Or which designer’s style and aesthetic do you most like?

@Arshim: Out of all those names I only knew Tiffany & Co. and Verragio! I went with Verragio, beautiful work!

You forgot Harry Winston!

Yes! Harry Winston for me too! Other designers on my list (that you dont have) would be Van Cleef & Arpels and Bvlgari

@lionsheart: I didn’t really forget them but since they are waaay out of the ‘average’ person’s price point, I decided to go with more realistic options.

My ring is by Simon G. Jewelry, so obviously that’s my pick!

I have a Gabriel & Co ring. I really liked their styles in general (I am very picky and would have been happy with any of their rings.) They are really good at pave but still completey reasonable. They have some really expensive settings, but mine was around 1,600 (not sure what Darling Husband paid retail) for a nearly .5 TCW semi mount setting. We bought the center stone seperate.

@echomomm: +1 was just going to say that!
Leon Mege or Omi Prevé!

@echomomm: Oh yes, Leon Mege! His designs are to die for!

Ummmm way to give Harry Winston the shaft! If its good enough for Elizabeth Taylor… Lol. Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it!

I’d ideally want a Winston! Just to wave it around (I would be an obnoxious asshole with a WInston ring. Good think I’m never getting one!)
But I also really like Tiffany and Cartier (just for the names), and Tacori (for actual ring design!)
I have a tacori. They are not worth the money at all and they are a horrible company to deal with unfortunately.
The rings themselves are still gorgeous though!

From your list I’d probably pick T&C or Cartier.
I also really like some stuff Graff does.
And you can’t forget the royal jeweler Garrard!!
