I wouldn’t call mine a knock-off (as it was totally its own dress) but it was inspired by a Vivienne Westwood dress.

The original (on Dita von Teese):

Is DaVinci a knock-off brand though?  I don’t know if that counts as a knock-off.  If you take a look at Maggies, Mori Lees, DaVincis, they all have very similar styles.

@MizzPhiladelphia1986:  I did. She’s an awesome dressmaker and is making me a new evening dress too. πŸ™‚

I have a knock-off. The bridal consultant told me so. I wanted a Justin Alexander 8483, and I noticed that the dress I got looked kind of like it. So I went to Anya Bridals to try it and some others. when I saw it, I gasped and said it looks like the Justin Alexander. the consultant said that was because it was inspired by the justin Alexander.

I love it, but when side by side, I see it’s not a complete knock off. I still love the JA so much, but I am happy with the inspiration. I feel my inspiration needs the daisies tacked down and might need more Daisies. But other than that, I love it.

The original JA above.

@sailor:  Thank you! That shot is actually from our “Rock the Frock” shoot 6 weeks later, as we didn’t get many photos of the dress on the day.

DaVinci isn’t a knock off; it’s just a distributor who uses the same designs as other brands and might choose to have the dress produced in lesser quality materials, etc.

Many bridal brands don’t have in-house designers and choose their dresses from the open bridal market, so that leaves several brands selling the same – or very very similar- dresses.  David’s Bridal does this, they share with DaVinci as well.

@MizzPhiladelphia1986:  Thanks, cause I’m dead in the middle of dress regret for some reason. Your compliment really helped.
