hi! i’m getting married in an out-of-the-way island in the caribbean the saturday before thanksgiving. people will need time to get on board the group-rate airfare, the rental cottages, etc. my save the dates should go out next week or the week after — is that too soon? and when do you think the invites should go out? how early can we ask for RSVPs?

I’ve heard you should send save the dates 6 to 9 months before the wedding, so I think your timing is perfect. For my wedding, 90% of the guests will have to travel, and we sent our save the dates 6 months before the wedding, and our invitations 2 months before. We set the RSVP date 1 month before. I think if you did the same (2 months for the invitation, 1 month for the RSVP), that should work for you. I imagine that if your guests are planning trips to the Carribean, they will definitely know their plans a month before your wedding. Good luck!
