hi everyone, I made another post about what replica dress makers to use over here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/which-china-replica-milly-dressilyme-udreamy-who-does-test-dresssend-sample but since the subject title of that post is about the retailer… i figured I should make one to get suggestions about long or 3/4 sleeve. I don’t care if the neckline is modest. I have just always dreamed of wearing a dress w/ sleeves. I also don’t mind spending money on alterations of a dress to add sleeves, I am just worried that would be really difficult to do… what are some tips on picking out a dress that can later be altered ? should the dress I pick be strapless or w/ spaghetti straps/halter? what’s easier to alter and add sleeves on?
I have fallen in LOVE with a Marchesa dress but only the top part, it’s the first one pictured and also the Valentino dress that’s the last one pictures. Clearly those are very difficult for a replica dress maker to make… so I’ve been thinking about the elements I like about them and I think it’s that I like the sleeves have some sort of natural tree/floral/leaf element instead of just lace.
here are some of my other inpsiration pictures so you can see the type of work that I will want done
What the dress must have
1) corset bodice
3) natural waist
4) some bling
5) some lace
6) relatively not very hard material that’s rigit, I would prefer something flowey… but not sheath.
7) some kind of either v-neck, scalloped, or sweetheart neckline… nothing TOO modest 😉
it will either be modified mermaid or fit and flare – but nothing totally poofy or ball gownish
I also need a full tutorial on words and terms you all use like bustle, loops, etc.
It’s so hard to find dresses w/ sleeves that have all the stuff I mentioned below, so if any of you have suggestions and pix, let me know pretty please!
