hehe Most florists can make anything you want without looking 80s (and I TOTALLY get that reference! I’ve seen some old photos out there!), especially if you have a design/look in mind.

My suggestion- find someone who specializes in wedding florals, as opposed to any old corner florist shop (thats where you’ll either find AMAZING deals/talent, or boring looking straight from the past but it will sure take some research to find that gem).

But without your budget, which makes a HUGE different in big cities like LA, it’s hard to make recommendations. But look for wedding florals and not neighborhood shops.

Try looking on yelp too!

My florist is based out of OC but she services LA as well. She was really reasonable and had a lot of great ideas that were not dated. She went the extra mile for us at our wedding and I ended up having her decide my linens at my meeting with my caterer too.

Her name is Jenny Ray and her website is http://floralsbyjenny.com/.

I’d recommend Charlie & Olivia http://charlieolivia.com a smaller boutique sized duo that does really unique twists.  A friend who works in the wedding industry recommended them, and I was really pleased with their interpretation of my “vision,” because I wanted something just a bit different myself.  i basically said I like these colors and these general ideas, and presented them some photos I had pinned and saved.  But I wasn’t wanting to “rip off” anybody else’s vision either.  So I wanted them to be creative, on a budget (we had to substitute a couple things on my wish list, oh well!), while remaining true to my original vision.  A lot to ask for, haha!  Anyway, I loved their blogs, photo shoots, etc., and was very pleased on the actual “day of.”  Great personalities and super fun girls too that were a lot of fun!
