We are having a reception only celebration and have about 150 adults and 30 younger guests coming. We are serving heavy appetizers but not dinner and our party is from 7pm-11pm. Since we are not serving dinner there is no formal “eating time” we are going to invite guests to grab food as soon as they arrive and snack throughout the night. My plan as of now is to make a few different trifles for dessert, A fruit one, a chocolate/candy one, pumpkin gingerbread one… etc. (open for your delicious recipe suggestions!) But I am not sure how many to make… I think they average about “15 servings” per trifle. I was planning on making about 5 but my in-laws don’t think that is nearly enough and told me to make about 15…? We will be having a handful of chocolate covered pretzel rods and cake pops also, but those are mostly for the kids to enjoy. HELP, how many would you make?
Also, our party is in a barn and the food is set up downstairs with the party, beer, dancing happening upstairs… do you think the desserts not staring people in the face all night will cut down on the amount I need? I am open to running out eventually… I would rather say sorry it’s gone than have a ton left over.
Thanks in advance for the help 🙂
