I am planning on having a late evening reception with a large dessert buffet. I’m gonna do a short cocktail hour (not a full hour) with some mini appetizers, so it’s not just sweets. I think this is a good option for us because we love dessert, but it also allows us to keep our guest count high to include everyone without going bankrupt. Does anyone have fun ideas or pictures of dessert buffets?? Please share 🙂

Our daughter had a destination wedding. We had a dessert reception when we got back. The desserts centered around the wedding trip and honeymoon.
Miami Beach Cake (Miami FL)
key lime pie (Key West)
Adorable strawberry margarita, pina colada, and mudslide cupcakes (Cozumel)
Plus a beach theme wedding cake, palm tree sugar cookies, blue punch, and carafes of milk sitting in galvanized tubs.
At each “destination” dessert table, we had a picture of them at that location and a short memory from them in frames. We got so many compliments about how beautiful, tasty, and unique.
Maybe think of places you have been together and use as a theme?? Even if it is in the US, each state and region has its own specialty.
Also, to save even more money AND be unique, do your appetizers then have all different kinds of cakes and pies in a jar! They are really adorable too!
Best of luck! T

I love the idea of a wedding reception! That is amazing, it will really cut costs if you have a budget, and it really will allow you to allot more guests. Plus, who doesn’t love desssert? You could actually set it up as a dessert bar to where the guests can make their own creations, or you have have displays of different desserts readily available. Here are some ideas:
