Not particularly true to size, in my experience–I am a street size 8, tried on an 8 and was swimming in it. Then again, the dress I tried was jersey knit, so maybe that has something to do with it? Be sure to have your BMs measured to ensure a proper fit.

The link isn’t working.

I too think they run on the large side.

I’ve seen them in person, beautiful dresses. Very good company to work with and if you have a bridesmaid who is incredibly difficult to fit, they can custom order the size to your maid’s exact measurement for about $100 more.

My girls wore Dessy After Six dresses and I don’t know if they were true to street size but they were very true to the sizing chart.  All of my girls got measured and needed minimal to no alterations.  Get your girls measured and buy to their largest measurement and you should be in great shape!

My girls orders Dessy Alfred Sung dresses.  One Bridesmaid or Best Man  measured a size 8, ordered a size 4 and it’s still too big and she’s having to have alterations done.  None of my other BMs have picked up their dresses yet.  Your dress is gorgeous though!

I could really use some help.  My brother is getting married and the bride picked out the Dessy Twist Wrap Dress.  The pics I’ve seen of this dress are pretty revealing… open back, sleeveless, etc.  I am plus sized woman and I’m really concerned about the dress fitting me.  I am trying to find pictures of a plus sized woman wearing the dress or find a store that has it in stock for me to try on.

I’m desperate and worried about not fitting in the dress, so any help you could provide would be great!  I need to figure out if I should tell the bride that I can’t be in the wedding because the dress doesn’t fit.

Thanks!

@erinherbrich: check out the website twobirdsbridesmaid.com they sell a similar dress and also offer a BANDEAU for some coverage (large chests, too much skin being revealed, etc.). see if you can find something similar to that in the color of the dress you have to wear. to find the bandeau click on delicacies on the top of the website. hope this was helpful!

How true is the fit to the chart?  ThE chart has a street size 8 going to a size 14 because of bust – does that seem right To those who own or have tried on the dress?

We are ordering the After Six 6639 in cloudy for gals street size: 4, 8 and 12

thanks!!

Hoping anyone else who has bought Dessy dresses can shed some light on this. I’m Australian so would like to know if anyone has measured and bought per the chart they provide and if so do they fit true to the chart size?

navzkore:  I ordered my size from the chart, but I found it was too big. I got the livvy dress which is strapless and needed to get it taken in quite a bit. I’m a size 8 Aus, so my measurements were for the size 4 and it was probably about 3 or 4 inches too big in the chest and waist.

I’ve measured my sister and a friend, size 12 and 14 australian each and they both correlate to the Dessy size 12 and 14 so now I’m really confused. For my sister she is wearing a strapless one, I”m just going with her bust measurements and ignoring the other 2 as they aren’t really relevant, was that kind of what you did?
