We got married in Canada and it was really easy to get married in BC.  You just never know so starting early is wise!




We also learned that getting a copy in Canada is really easy – any notary can make a copy for you.  But you have to be physically IN Canada.


“Certified” copies are not normally used in Canada and rare.  However, in the US we use certified copies all the time for name changing, and you cannot notaries vital documents in the US like you can in Canada.  Canada kept telling us just go to the bank, and I would say “we cannot do that here!”




That was a bit of a headache for a little while, but I got it done.
