We are having a small family Maui Destination Wedding. It can be as inexpensive or expensive as you like, depending on your accommodations and your ceremony/reception choice. I know the Caribbean all-inclusives are super popular because they are so reasonably priced! Dominican, Mexico, Jamaica etc.

@thefuturemrsD:  I am going to get married in Florida and originally it was going to be just our immediate families, but now it is going to be about 60-70 people and its costing about 20,000+. Its nice because everyone can drive and no one needs a passport. All I can say is that Destination Wedding can be just as expensive as a wedding back home, but if you don’t care about all the “extra’s” of a wedding (which I didn’t, but my FIL’s are paying and they wanted to add all sorts of things) then you can spend very little. What type of budget are you looking at? And are you going to pay for your families to travel or will they take care of it? I am doing my wedding on Anna Maria Island. Its a great quiet laid back place. You can rent a house there and everyone could stay in one place. Since i’m having so many people, we are doing multiple rentals (we aren’t paying for the accomodations.)

I am planning a Destination Wedding but haven’t settled on the location yet.  What I am finding is that there is a HUGE range of prices out there.  You should decide how much you want to spend then find a wedding planner/travel agent who has a lot of experience with destination weddings who can guide you to the right resort.

@JAXBCHKAY:  + 1, this is exactly what we are looking into.  We don’t have anyone coming with, and we want to do it relatively cheaply.

@thefuturemrsD:  We are considering St. Lucia and Jamaica, but no decisions have been made yet.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  We don’t have anyone coming here, so I’m definitely hoping it can be done for under $15,000. We are staying for 2 weeks and obviously want to be in a nice resort.

do it! lol. although im english my other half and i started with looking at home. if we had a wedding we wanted country side in a barn on land etc. the whole thing inc clothing rings etc would have been £10,000 english pounds. so now we are going to cyprus with 20 people married on gazebo at beach. total cost £6,500 for the week inc ceremony food and rings flight suits…etc.

and it lasts 1 week not 1 day.lol. we did have a look at some beautiful places in florida keys but too far for other people to fly.

i hope this helps. i just got grilled by my sister in laws mother in law why am i doing it abrad when u can have a fab day her blah blah blah and she had a point i would have done it here if i had a spare £20 grand but i dont i got exactly what i wanted and wouldnt change it for the world. all for £6500!
