Sandals has extensive info on their web site. We are doing a Jamaica vow renewal. It was to be a Destination Wedding but we had a courthouse ceremony here to save on health insurance.

To answer your two questions and help with overall questions:

You will have a phone call set up with a wedding planner. They go through each step and explain everything. They are sales people so it helps to research online so you have ideas what you want. I found it to be more information than sales though. You will plan each item- location, music, flowers, cake…..all of the details. There is hair, makeup and nail service at the spa of the resort. You can do a trial the day before or just your wedding day. It is recommended that you take your dress, shoes, jewelry as carry on luggage. It helps to keep this in mind while choosing a gown..

When you arrive at resort, there will be a wedding folder in your room with all of your preplanned information. You will meet with onsite wedding planner day after arrival. You finalize your location choice then. There is only one wedding per hour so you will have choice of any location at resort. Pics of locations on web site too. You will have a cake tasting. From there, it seems you enjoy yourself and the wedding planner takes over.

For us, it will be my husband and myself only. We are having the ceremony and champagne/cake cutting/ first dance and then the private candlelight dinner on beach. I chose to go with silk flowers from an Etsy vendor as I felt the fresh were pricey. I am having hair and makeup done, but not a trial. I don’t want to take the time as I’d rather be on the beach!

My email is [email protected]. I have spent lots of time and phone calls with the wedding planner so I think I know pretty much how it goes. My date is November 12th.

Note: I believe St Lucia is the only resort where you get a certified marriage certificate before you leave. If you need to change names immediately or go onto spouses insurance this is important.

Email me if you like. I would be happy to help.

@tdb:  I have no idea about St Lucia sorry but in regards to your dress, many people try to take it on as carry luggage in a garment bag rather than check it on.
