Hey Congratulations !

first off whats your budget ?

I’ll tell you what I am doing , Fiance and I went back and forth changed our wedding date a million times thought we would have a wedding in NY , however realized what we wanted was going to be wel over $20K … we decided destination was the way to go

BUT… we didn’t want the cookie cutter wedding factory experience… I researched , researched , and researched until I found the Jellyfish Restuarant and Beach Clucb in Punta Cana Dominican Republic.

Its on a not private but pretty secluded beach ( trust me no one is around) and you will not get cookie cutter , you will get what YOU ask for and more … Mayte the wedding planner is fabulous with the most impeccable taste and the food is plenty and amazing. I will be getting married there August 2nd 2014 hosting about 35 Guest including ourselves.

we all have booked our stay at the Melia Carbe Tropical which is right next door to Jellyfish , and jellyfish will work out transporttation form Hotel to venue for a small fee …

EVERYTHING is included you dont have to worry about anything , Mayte is amazing and she will truly help make your dreams come true … I was just like you … I wanted private , romantic , and fun wedding without limitations and I am getting that at the Jellyfish without breaking the bank 🙂

if you want to know more PM me and I can send you the menu , my first quote and everything else I have.

also the Melia is great because they will welcome your guest with private check in and help you plan a rehersal dinner, they will have signs with your wedding info so guest know where to go etc … it’s a hotel with great reviews so far 🙂

sorry i was all over the place , I’m just really excited and happy to share !

emilyluwest:  it wasn’t for me but my FI’s sister. They did it at Dreams. She told me the planner got all the flowers and everything taken care of. The venue was outdoor facing the beach and it was breathtaking. The food was amazing too with lobster and steak. I also know another couple got married at RIU in cabo. There’s quite a few venues to choose 🙂

We are getting married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas if you are looking something stateside. It is a gorgeous little town in the mountains. You can have a small intimate wedding or like us about a 100 person wedding. almost every venue there has an on site coordinator to help plan everything.

emilyluwest:  We are getting married at Sandals Grande Antigua in a couple of weeks.  All of the Sandals resorts specialize in these weddings and everything is done for you.  It took us, literally, about 30 minutes of effort. Most of that is because we couldn’t figure out what we wanted to do for pictures.  Criticisms I’ve hard is that the photographers aren’t great and the outside photographers are expensive and that if you are wanting to do your own off-site things (bring your own favors, centerpieces, etc.) they charge you for it.  It’s just the two of us so we aren’t doing any of this, but I did hear somebody being charged for bring their own sand ceremony instead of buying the resorts’.  We aren’t being charged–on the invoice the ‘bring own sand ceremony’ was a no charge item.  http://www.bestdestinationweddings.com may a good website to check out.

We are having our wedding in Roatan. Im using a wedding planner that is taking care of every detail for us.  You tell her your budget and she presents you with choices to choose from. She has been great! Checkout Roatan Honduras. Its a small island in the Caribbean.  Her name is Camilla, you can find her company on facebook or the web. Her facebook site is better in my oppinion. Roatan event & wedding planner is the name of her company.  I hope this helps. Good luck on your destination search.

emilyluwest:  We have ours planned at Sandals Carlyle ( Jamaica) for July 2015. Its all inclusive and they will do everything for you. You can customize the colors that you want or you can pick from the premade themes. Like mtom said deciding on photos will probaly be the hard part, since they will not allow off site photograhers on the resort.  They are having a special now that you can “test drive” the wedding experince and see it up close and decide if that is what you want to do and get additonal credits towards your wedding if you plan on having a destination wedding. I think they have discounted pricing on the rooms for 2 days  and I think it started at $500 per couple depending on the resort location.  Even if  you go to Jamaica you could decide to have your wedding at another island. I think its pretty cool. We are too far booked to test drive LOL
