We’re going away for a week for our Destination Wedding, arriving at the destination on Sunday and the wedding on Friday. We have a cruise for the whole day Monday and another full day of events on the Wednesday. I don’t really want to spend every day in between at the salon, but I’m not sure which things I can safely do before we arrive!
I’m thinking: hair cut and coloured late in the week before we go.
Spray tan on the Tuesday that we’re at the destination.
Nails the day before the wedding? I don’t have my nails done normally so not sure if I can get away with doing it earlier.
Brazilian wax (!) – we’ll be in swimsuits for most of that week so I’ll have to do it before we leave I guess, although I’m not happy about that! If I do it on the Saturday before it will only be 6 days. That is something I do regularly so aware of regrowth times!
Is there anything else I should be thinking about? Am I on the right track with the scheduling?

I’m getting a brow wax about a week before the wedding. Will you be getting one? I don’t need them shapped or anything, they just need to look cleaner. I have yet to decide if I am getting my nails done the morning of the wedding or the day/night before…I need to hurry up!
There is just so much to do…and not enough time!

Another Destination / Elopement Bride here.
Hair Cut & Colour in the week before you go is probably a good idea (I will be doing the same).
The Esthetician at my Beauty Salon will do my eyebrows at the same time.
I have fake nails, so will probably get them done before I leave home as well. (Can’t see myself going to a place I don’t know for that)
Don’t wax, so will be shaving as required.
Having a bit of a Spa Day the day before the Wedding… thinking of getting a Pedi and Massage (considering a Facial, but believe I read somewhere that it is good to get done a few days to a week before)
Day Of, I’ll get my hair done the morning of the Wedding. Make-up too.
I’ve thought about a spray tan, but have read so many mixed reviews on them here on WBee, that I am now leaning towards not doing one as timing appears to be quite tricky (too early and they fade, or you look streaky… too late and they can look super fake)
Hope this helps,

@Laura_224: I would try to combine as much as possible… Do your nails and spray tan on the same day. I’d recommend Tuesday, if you’re geting acrylic french manicure. Destination Wedding grad here =) You don’t want to spend too many days at the salon!!!

Yikes, brows – right!! I will do that at the same time as the other wax I guess.
Will my nails be okay until the Friday if get them done Tuesday? I don’t even know how I’ll have them done, I know nothing about false nails having had them once before when I was 18! I think I want coloured polish, I’d be worried about them chipping?
I hate that I’ll have to spend 8 hours after a spray tan sitting still and trying not to sweat – not ideal when we’re supposed to be hanging out with guests. If I get it done last appointment of the day I can just go and hide in my room for the night I suppose.

@This Time Round: Have you thought about having a test spray tan before your wedding to see how it works out, if you did want to have one for the wedding? I’ve had quite a few before special events and it makes such a huge difference to how you feel and look I think! I also have some very weird tan lines from a combination of living in the snow and traveling to beach islands in the past year so I definitely need some evening out!
