Perhaps you could consider emphasizing non-flower options like candle or pineapple centerpieces and then potentially mixing that in with some flowers but you’ll need fewer than if the focus is on flowers. Also, I’ve seen lovely paper flowers for weddings in Mexico that always look really cool to me.

Sorry I don’t know more about pricing if you go with “regular” flower options but will be interested in what others have to say about this if they’ve already done it.

tiajohnson1031 :  People I have talked to (and myself) simply come up with a $ amount and tell the florist that’s their budget for x amount of bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. If you want centerpieces mention that and the florist will make it work. Like, I had no intention of having centerpieces because I didn’t think it would be in budget, but our florist suggested small arrangements and she made it work in our budget.

So I would check with your venue because they may require the flowers are purchased thru them. I am doing a 30 person destination wedding in Hawaii and that is the case for me.  The problem with that is they charge an arm and a leg and for what I think are crappy looking flowers, so i am doing non-floral centerpeices running down one long table.  Mix and match candles, faux leaf runners, glass pineapples, light up sticks in vases, etc.  I’m not doing bouquets for the BMs either.

I will be married next month in the Bahamas and bought all fake flowers for our centerpieces and bouquet/bouts. I even purchased fake flowers through the arch on Etsy. I’ve attached pictures for you. We spent altogether about $550 on flowers. We are packing these in a hard shell checked back full of bubble wrap to get them to our destination. We were charged a “set up” fee for bringing our own of $250 at Sandals, but you can resell fake flowers to make your money back unlike real ones. If you’re interested I can send you the names of the vendors.
