I really want to get our guests who are flying down south with us party favours or something nice to thank them for coming to celebrate with them, but am SUPER-stumped on what would be original or not lame…. Any ideas?!

what about a welcome bag when they checkin? maps, water, a local snack, asprin etc. all very helpful stuff that they will be happy to receive and use

thats a good idea, maps etc. I hadnt really thought about gifts for my guests. what about personalised sunscreen 🙂 or lipbalm? ie a sticker on it or something. Might need to be small to take back?

I would second the welcome bag. We’re also having a bottle of wine in guests hotel rooms when they arrivre with a thank you note.

It’s Cuba, not really a place who provides mainstream information packets or offers any sort of services we’d be used to here! I was really hoping to hear something more original…. Humph! What a stumper. Do you think just writing an individualized thank-you note or card to the couples/families is good enough? I was also thinking of framing a nice picture for each of them, but it seems kind of vain?!

I did welcome bags with the bag itself being a mini canvas bag they can use as a beach bag. In them i put the usual water bottle, mini sunscreen, chapstick, advil, snack. And then I also threw in a deck of cards, a best of bob marley handmade cd ( my wedding was in Jamaica). And I put 2 Jamaica post cards- one blank and one personalized with my welcome note on the back. I think that was the gist of them

@sassypants: a bottle of wine in the room sounds like a nice idea for guests 🙂
