- Wedding: May 2013
We are having a destination wedding. I keep going back and forth on who to invite and driving myself nuts.
It’ll be our parents on both sides, and our sisters. He was 1 sister. I have 3 sisters. One of them may not be able to make it (with her family of 4) because her husband is military & they are actually moving from WA to NY, and driving across country the same month as my wedding (the don’t have FOR SURE dates yet, but know it’ll be May). I told her I would not expect her to drive across country, move into a new house, then drive 20+++ hours to Florida. I feel like that’s ridiculous!! I would never put that kind of stress on anyone to attend my wedding! One of the reasons we’re doing D.W. is to keep it SMALL.
I have been contemplating inviting my aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins. We’re all close when we’re together, but don’t really talk when we aren’t. However, my dad has been living with my aunt, so I feel like how can I not invite them?
So if I include my aunt, uncle, and cousins, our guest list would be 22..which is still small..
My mom is telling me just to do it. It’s not like the addition of these people would bring a bad time.. they’re quite entertaining. The only other thing IS — my sister is having a destination wedding in Vegas 2 months before mine. I Felt like not inviting them would be an easy out!! They are independently wealthy, but that’s still a lot for ANYONE.
I talked to my aunt about it and she said whatever we decided to do, she supported. She was also nervous about leaving my grandfather home alone.
Anyone out there have any advice?
