Hi there- I need your help. I had always dreamed of a destination wedding in Los Cabos but my fiance wasn’t really for it and we both didn’t want to put our families in a position where they would need to shell out a lot of extra money so we picked a venue locally in NY that has a tropical resort feel to it. I want my wedding theme to be a destination wedding in NY so one thing I plan to do is instead of placecards give out luggage tags to the guests and instead of table numbers write down names of different tropical islands as the table names. Another thing I am thinking about doing are boarding pass invitations. Do you think these are cheesy ideas since we aren’t really doing a destination wedding but I’m trying to create that feeling since it’s what I have always wanted? Below is a picture of our venue so you can see what I mean:

I think your ideas are great! If you can’t go to the beach, bring the beach to you 🙂

I love your ideas and your venue! It’s cute to stick with a theme and your guests will appreciate it. Maybe serve tropical-inspired drinks also?

Great idea and I would get married at that venue if I wasn’t getting married in Punta Cana. I think you should use your passport cards for escort cards and use lovely traditional invites with a beach theme motif Check out http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/Wedding-Invitations/Destination-and-Beach-Wedding-Invitations/index.cat
Also you can give out a box of chocolates or cookies with a mini starfish attached to it (you can order these cheap at http://www.orientaltrading.com.
I will be working with a great video/photo company in case you haven’t book one. Check out
Good luck. I’m sure it will be lovely!
