I’ve been to the Dominican Republic but I have to admit, it wasn’t that great compared to some other warm, tropical beachy places I’ve been to (Virgin Islands, Mexico, Bahamas). I’ve heard St. Lucia is great, though!

I went to Puerto Plata in the DR. I would never go there again. I have heard Punta Cana is way better.

We chose Bimini Bay Resort in Bimini, Bahamas. Besides lots of water activities (bone fishing, snorkeling, SNUBA, scuba diving, paddleboarding, swimming with the dolphins, etc), there are 9 other ‘out-islands’ of the Bahamas you can take day trips to. Best part is that is only an 18 mintue from Ft. Lauderdale:) And, they have a new ferry service from Miami to Bimini beginning in November. The resort is only 5 years old and is beautiful. They are in the process of putting the finishing touches of the new casino. Only drawback: it’s not all-inclsive, but it really wasn’t all that expensive. When we added up our trip to Bimini and compared it to our trip to a Nassau all-inclusive resort, Bimini was cheaper:) And way more fun!

@Blissfu1:  highly recommend checking out the island of Grenada. One of the most beautiful places- not really a chain hotel sort of island but it has EVERYTHING- rainforests, beautiful beaches, culture, history, amazing people… LOVE it there!

We’re tying the knot in Goa, India. It has everything you want and cultural stuff to do as well.

I definitely reccomend St Lucia. It seems to check off every point you want.  Take a look at a resort called Ladara. If that’s out of budget take a look at the Windjammer.
