Hello everyone! My Fiance and I are in the beginning stages of planning our Destination Wedding. Unfortunately, our budget (and jobs) do not allow us to visit potential locations in person, and we have to rely on suggestions. We are certain we want to get married in the Caribbean and (of course) would like to keep the cost as low as possible, without sacrificing too much quality.
Have you gotten married in the Caribbean? Been to a DW? Been on your honeymoon somewhere amazing? Please leave any and all suggestions! And if you spent your Destination Wedding in the Caribbean, would you mind giving me approximate costs?

Hello and Congrats!
Our Destination Wedding will be this December but i have most of the costs already hammered out. These prices are based on 15 people total. We are taking an 8 day cruise and in port in St Thomas we are having a ceremony on the beach and then a small reception at a local island resturaunt.
The cost of the ceremony, including location, officiant, decorations, steel drummer, wedding planner, transportation to the courthouse and then to the ceremony for the bride and groom, certified copies of marraige cert, bouquet and boutoniere, cake, wedding planner assistance and a few other things will be 1600$
Chairs will be rented for 10$ a piece plus a set up fee so for 15 people those will be 225$.
I am splurging on a photographer for 1200$ for 3 hours but you can have them by the hour and they range from 600-800 for the first hour.
We are having transportation in a safari bus for our guests which will come in between 200-300.
I am having seperate transportation for my Fiance and I to the ceremony so we dont see eachother before hand for an extra 125$.
Then we are going to a resturaunt where I am anticipating it being no more than 40pp for everything including drinks so dinner will be about 600$.
With all of that it comes out to 4050$ but i am budgeting 5k just in case. Now i got alot of extras and such that arent needed and alot of it depends on how many people you are having! So far planning has been nothing but a breeze and I am so happy we have decided to go this route! Good Luck and Happy planning

@amyjanna: I am planning a Destination Wedding, I found a great website or two and went off that. find a few places (islands) you like and then scout on local wedding coordinators.
