Hi Ladies!
Trying to get some ideas of things I could add to my welcome bags for my destination wedding in Mexico. I don’t want anything personalized, and would like to stay away from junk type items that people will just toss. We’re getting married at a 5 star hotel, so I’m not adding things in like shampoo/conditioner as even if guests forget that stuff it’ll be included. So far I have listed for my bags:
- Waters
- Mini alcohol bottles/mexican soda
- Some sort of salty snack (probably tortilla chips since it’s Mexico)
- Harbo gummy bears (my favorite candy)
- His favorite chocolate bars
- Mini Advil packs
- Blowfish or Alka Seltzer packs (good for hangovers)
- Mini Sunscreen bottles
- Welcome note with itinerary for weekend
- Map of surrounding area with items stared (nearest coffee, breakfast, etc).

Anything else anyone added to theirs or is planning on including? Also, if anyone has put together welcome bags in Mexico, did you ship most of the stuff or buy it there? I’m planning on doing a costco run once we get there for waters and snack stuff, but have been ordering some of the other things here to bring with. I can’t decide if it would be easier/cheaper to get the alcohol bottles here, or buy there. Just for reference I think we’ll have around 70-100 guests.
Thanks!

I’m getting married in Mexico in 38 days yikes! Im also doing welcome bags. I’m not going food heavy since we are also staying in a 5 star resort with fully included and stocked mini fridge and 24hr all included room service. Here are the items in my welcome bags:
Welcome notes
Itinerary of wedding related event
Flip flop bottle openers (per request of my FH)
Package of tissues
Small bag of chocolate
Bottle of tylenol
Sunscreen
Chapstick
Mints
Playing cards bc our friends like to play games
I think that’s it. Just thought that stuff would be useful on vacay. I would not recommend shipping to Mexico per reports of others and asking at my local USPS store. They said it is unreliable to ship there bc their customs take forever and then ur package arrives with half your stuff missing. I have had very close family friends offer to take a bag if nessisary I am hoping to be able to fit all my wedding day things in one bag and just pay the fees if I need to.
Hope this helps! Good luck

I’m doing Tylenol/Advil, mini first aid kits, custom koozies (or drink cups, haven’t decided yet) some snacks, itinerary and a welcome letter. I’m going to be bringing most of it with me but will do a Costco run for the snacks once we get to Cabo. I was going to do sunscreen but I think we’ll probably just pick up some regular sized bottles at Costco and let everyone know we have it if they forgot, it’s super expensive to buy at the resorts. Chapstick is a good idea, I may add that as well.

I’m doing advil, bandaids, playing cards, nail files (for the ladies) koozies, lip balm, immodium, gatorade single packet, pepto, shout wipes, gum, aloe vera lotion, hand sanitizer and personalized sunglasses (found a site that does then pretty much for 1.05 each..and they will personalize the sides!)

We’re staying at a 5 star, all-inclusive, so I’m doing a beach bag with the mini first aid kits including advil, tylenol, pepto, shout wipes, aloe vera gel and hand sanitizer, plus adding aviator sunglasses, a deck of playing cards, an insulated cup to keep drinks cold at the beach/pool, and a sodkuku / activity book. I also included sealable badge holder with wrist coils for people to put their room key and cash for tips. Plus, a welcome letter, of course.
