I would be really confused if someone gave me a copy of the Great Gatsby in a wedding welcome bag. It’s a great book, but it’s all about infidelity and lost love–not exactly wedding themes, in my opinion.

I didn’t think of the luggage handle wraps! Cool idea! I did luggage favor tags for my Out of Town bags! They came out super cute as well and it was one of my DIY items! But to answer your question, I think both would be an awesome touch!

I love luggage handle wraps but personally don’t like these ones. I would skip the custom embroidery and have something on a better fabric. If there is a common area in your wedding accommodations it would be nice to have a few copies of the book available.

I love the book idea!!! My wedding is on Martha’s Vineyard and I’m planning to do the same with a mystery novel that takes place there (haven’t broken the news on that one to my fiance yet). I do think some people might roll their eyes…but the idea is just too much fun for me to resist.

Gatsby is one of my favorites, too, you just can’t go wrong with a classic (even a darker one). It’s a book I already have two copies of in my house (neither Fiance nor I were prepared to get rid of our personal ones when I moved in)…and if I got a third at a wedding… I would treasure it all the more for the significance.

I voted against the luggage tags only because I have many friends who hate to have their names on things that are “public” (it encourages a lot of the “Hey, Daisy, you want to get a drink?”-type of comments from strangers). I think they’re a really cute idea, just not sure if it would be worth it.

I love the luggage holders. I am having a small Destination Wedding wedding too with 14-20 and this gave me a great idea! Love it!

God I love Perth. I think Ill try and make a trip up there next week when we go home for a visit. Im on the hunt for non monogramed luggage handle wraps (I found a bunch last week on etsy) and have found some (not the awsome ones of last week).
