@Prissy28: YES!! The grounds at the Beaches location were really beautiful and there were several locations to hold a ceremony and reception. Not to mention the food was excellent…. The beaches resort @ Turks and Caicos has 16 different restaurants. You will not be disappointed.

We were seriously considering a Sandals resort before choosing Azul Sensatori in Rivieria Maya,Mexico. I would suggest joining a website that has a travel agency to help you will all the travel plans. Many of your family and friends are going to want to get advice & be assured they are getting the best rate possible. My Husband & I used destinationweddings.com to plan our Destination Wedding last September and we could not have had a better experience! We paid a $50 fee to join and were assigned a wedding planner Brittany who was outstanding. She helped us choose the perfect location, date, flowerse, cake, etc. If you are in the beginning stages of the wedding planning, I would sersiouly suggest getting some extra help 🙂

You can’t go wrong with a destination wedding!  Wherever you go will be amazing.  if you are looking to narrow down a resort you should definitely work with an experienced agency to assist you in making the choice.  For me, the decision on which resort was best was the hardest and most important choice I made in the entire process.  I worked with http://www.destinationweddings.com and they were absolutely invaluable in the resort selection process.  I had properties in mind based on what I’d seen in brochures and online but in reality, these people know the wedding departments, the services and the amenities that can absolutely make or break your idea of the dream wedding.  Sandals is a reputable and amazing company but they are couples only so if you have guests with kids or singels that want to attend, you are in a bit of a pickle.  Destinationweddings.com can help you find a resort that will accomodate everyone with all of the luxuries and services that you desire from Sandals.  The Dreams chain, and the Azul chain are also wonderful luxury choices that accomodate singles, children and even the ederly.  I would have never been as successful with every last detail of my wedding, for not only myself, but also my guests if I didn’t work with http://www.destinationeweddings.com.  I can’t say enough about how great they were and how much they helped make my day unfrogettable and truly flawless.

Good luck, whatever you choose will be magical I’m sure!

My husband picked our Sandals Grande Riviera in Ochos Rios Jamaica. Didn’t want Montego Bay because too much hustle. Grande Riviera was renovated and looks stunning. It has a narrow beach which is good for me because I have mobility issues.

His real reason was the only request he had- a golf course. If that’s all he wants, Im happy.

Can’t wait until our November vow renewal.

We just got married at Sandals Grande in st Lucia. Everything was awesome. Warning the beach is not private so if your having alot of guests I suggest going with one of those outsidsop panning companies that do weddings on private beaches. It was stress free. Our wedding planner Jenna was awesome. The photo prices are expensive. $500 for 24 photos. Not joking. We went next door to pigeon island with a local photographer and did pics. Mikael lamber. He as awesome. PM if you have any other questions

*bump*

So, let me get this straight – we will not receive our official marriage certificate until 10-12 weeks after our wedding in the Bahamas?  We will be legally married on the date of, though, correct?  Just checking! lol

My brother and his wife were married 3 years ago in Negril (Sandals); they rave to this day of how wonderful their experience was. My fiancee and I are getting married next July in Montego Bay. (Sandals) My brother and his wife had no problems with the official wedding license. It did take them over a month to get it in the mail, and it is 100% legal and accepted in the US. You can pay an extra fee to have your license expedited, but what’s the rush? I have my own insurance, and have no need to rush an official copy of a license to get on his insurance since I am keeping my own.  I can wait a few months and not worry about anything!

My brother’s wedding pictures were amazing, and adorable!! Their room was decorated with rose petals and towel decoratinos (folded into swans, etc.) everyday. They loved the food, met some wonderful people and loved the staff.

Congrats on your engagement, and best wishes for a beautiful and stress free wedding!

spikeybride:  I would love to hear more about your wedding, the planning process, and everything as I am recently engaged and looking at the St Lucia (Grande) location. I am also curious what vendors you went with through sandals and which you chose your own (ie: pics / videos…etc) and any recommendations you may have for me.

Hello fellow brides, I have just booked my wedding for May 6, 2017. I know it’s quite awhile away (20 Months) but I am very excited! I booked Beaches Turks and Caicos (I originally wanted St. Lucia but realized it was adults only, and we have a few nieces and nephews). Thank you for all the comments about your experiences, its greatly appreciated! I am the first one in my circle planning a destination wedding so I don’t really have many people to get feedback from. Apparently they are quite busy so I cannot talk to my wedding planner until a couple months from now, but they were really apologetic even though I did not mind one bit waiting until December as I have so much time to plan. In the meantime, one of the agents sent me the information I needed to do planning on my end.

My parents go to a different Sandals resort two or three times a year and their favorite by far is Sandals Emerald Bay Great Exuma in the Bahamas.  It’s now their anniversary trip every year, and they’ve been strongly suggesting that Fiance and I go there for our honeymoon 🙂  I’ve personally been to the Sandals in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia; and we’re going to Sandals Whitehouse in December.  You really can’t go wrong- we’ve had a great experience at all of them!

We looked at Sandals Montego Bay or Whitehouse for ourselves, but after talking to a travel agent, we were sold on Couples Swept Away in Jamaica.  It sounded a little more laid back to us, and was  a bit less expensive since they don’t have you choose from things like whether to have a butler or not.  We are going to be in a Beach Front Verandah Suite for this trip (if we go back for another trip we might save on the room, but felt this was an occasion to splurge) and I am thinking the beach wedding awning location will literally be feet from our room’s patio door.

They seem to do the same things as Sandals overall – if you stay 6 nights, the wedding is “complemntary” and then you can choose your cake, flowers, location, time of day, and you pick 4 songs to bring for them to play (or pay more to ahve a live musician), and some photography is included, but I think we will pay for a DVD and to get the photos on a CD instead of just negatives.  They play the music for your walk down the “ailse”, the cake cutting, toast, and if wanted, a first dance for all the photo opps.  You can also get photos on the beach and in the gardens I think.

I’ve already got everything squared away with the planner for now – we still need passports, and for Fiance to pick our songs (his job) and then to talk to the planner when we get there in May and finalize our photo package choices and such.  I am hoping it’s simple and sweet – Fiance didn’t want a lot of hoopla with guests and family tugging us every which way, and so I am hoping it’s just us, and things go smoothly.
