i contacted them, but I discovered, you get pushed to an agent anywhere in the US, so your’s might be a dud or a golden egg.  Then you pay $50 (which goes towards your reservation) but once they get the $50–they take forever and there is no assurance you will like their quote. Then I found out that the company is in Boston, but hires all these “at home” agents across the country that might not have ANY Destination wedding experience.  I was getting very frustrated.  I went to brides.com and someone there mentioned a few other places.  Finally, I ended up with VIP Vacations and Jennifer, who is a Destination Wedding bride herself and her wedding was filmed by theknot.com and is playing on sandals.com

I love her.  She has tons of testimonials and her agents are all very sweet and know so much!

http://www.travelbyvip.com is the website!

I heard about similar expediences as morganbley and ended up going with a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings and she was absolutely amazing to work with -she almost acted like a wedding coordinator, even though I had one, and negotiated the rates on the hotel down to about half of the normal costs to fit my budget.

Her name is Becky and her email is [email protected], if you’re interested.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I’ve had a completely different experience with DestinationWeddings.com. I think it just depends which agent you’re assigned to. My agent (Kristi) is great to work with. She is prompt in getting back to me, always answers my questions and has given great advice.
