- Wedding: September 2016 - Hunting Hill Mansion
When my mom first told me that my bridal shower had a theme, I had ZERO idea of what it could possibly be. Not a clue! That morning, I was worried where I was going to put my wallet and phone (no pockets!) and my Fiance said someone would carry it for me. I responded saying: I’m a bride, not a queen! Fiance had to bite his tongue in that moment to keep the secret! 🙂 I was completely blown away by what my bridal had put together. It was amazing and magical!! I am honored to become the Lady of House Wismer.
I was blindfolded all the way from my house to the restaurant!
All of my lovely BMs (with the exception of my sister 😉 ) all wore the same shade of blue as I had in my dress AND DIDN’T EVEN PLAN IT!! Complete coincidence! My Maid/Matron of Honor made the quartz crystal crown I am wearing.
One of my favorite things about the shower was the gorgeous hand-lettered invitation by Britt Valencia of ZZ House Designs. I wish I had a better photo of it. That’s a map of Westeros on the back! “Wedding is Coming!”
Little details pulled it all together:
The old stone of the venue was perfect for the theme. Great blend of rustic/modern.
My dad made this incredible Iron Throne for me to sit on while I opened my gifts. Here’s a close up:
(sorry it’s sideways!)
DRESS: Troubador via RenttheRunway.com
VENUE & CATERING: Brandywine Prime http://www.brandywineprime.com/
CENTERPIECES: Mason jars from Walmart, ribbon and “W” stickers from Michael’s, hydrangeas from Giant (and some from my parents’ backyard!)
INVITATION: ZZ House Design https://www.facebook.com/ZZhouseDesign/?fref=ts
Attention Philly brides!! My parents could not speak more highly of Michael, the restaurant manager at Brandywine Prime. When my mom told me the price per plate, my jaw hit the floor. $17.75/person!! I would have guessed far higher than that. All of the food was fantastic. I think it would be PERFECT for a small wedding (or another shower, of course.) Here was our menu: http://www.brandywineprime.com/pdf/BP_menu_SampleShowerServed.pdf We also had a mimosa bar as well as a coffee bar. Just wanted to share that with you guys because I am seriously still so blown away.
