Bees, just venting my fustration – i had a meeting planned this afternoon whom I’ve been communicating with since MAY 2012 re types of flowers & prices – I received an email not long ago cancelling becuase they already have another wedding booked on my wedding day!!
I had given my details over 12 months ago! I would have thought they woud pencil me in & if another bride was interested, at least requested a deposit from me.
I had searched high & low for what i wanted & they were it. Even Plan B is now booked & they were triple the price.
Back to the drawaing back & very upset about it.

@Nic01: It sucks but as much as we invest time and energy into vendors, they follow by a different set of priorities such as worrying about the bottom line. =( Hopefully, you can find another route or vendor. If you find one, put a deposit down immediately!

@Nic01: Vendors in my area will do the same UNLESS you specifically ask about a hold or you give a deposit. Most florists I called specifically told me they will book whoever pays a deposit and won’t hold. Some vendors offered me a courtesy hold but most wouldnt especially if they were/are a popular vendor. I’m sorry this happened to you but atleast you have time to find another florist. Who knows….maybe you will find an even better one or one thais works with your budget better.

You bees are right – but what i’m peeved about is they continued providing quotes etc – probably during the time they were already booked!1 when i asked to meet with them last year, they even suggested holding off so i continued correspondance via email.
I’ve been making phone calls all afternoon. What the orignal vendors quotes as $65, all the rest are $200 + AND looks like many florists are already booked for my date.
i have hope..but.. GGRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you set on flowers? What about real touch flowers or another kind of bouquet?
It sucks but good cheap vendors book out fast and in hindsight you probably should of insisted on putting a deposit down especially to secure prices.

@Nic01: Have you tried an aussie site? Whilst I don’t like the forums rules over there easyweddings.com.au has a lot of traffic on their forums.
Sorry I am not much help for Adelaide regarding florists.
