I think he should just leave it at home when he is working. My Fiance also will not be able to wear his ring to work because he is in construction and its a safety issue. Alot of guys are unable to wear their rings to work so no big deal.

I’d just leave it at home and put back on after work.

I agree with just leaving it at home.

He could also look into getting a wedding band tattoo.  I know some guys do that, and Darling Husband is considering it.

A small tattoo or even a tattoo ring would be sweet ๐Ÿ™‚ You could both get a band, an eternity sign, a heart, or your initials tattooed and problem solved ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not even a teeny tiny tattoo that would be covered up bu his ring when he’s not at work?

Because if he’s not allowed to wear a ring at all, I think you’ve run out of options…

What about wearing the ring on a necklace? Idk… just trying to think of ideas for you! Lol

What about leaving the real ring home from work, but keeping a decoy on a chain or something?  That way he’d have something to have somewhere and slip on if he stops at the store or meets you after work, but if it gets lost who cares?  I think wearing his real ring on his neck would be risky only in the sense that the chain could break and then it would be lost.  If the gold wears away over time, it can always be repaired by a jeweler…might not be the cheapest option but it wouldn’t be ruined forever if he takes it in to be looked at periodically.

It doesn’t sound like there is a safe way he can wear it to work.

A friend of mine’s husband works in construction and when they first got married he too wanted to wear his ring to work.  He almost had a really bad accident when his ring (which was a little big) caught on something.  From then he left his ring at home.  Everyone knows he’s married, he knows he’s married and while he wanted to wear it, the safety reasons were enough for him to be reasonable and leave it at home.

I work at a hospital and I rotate where I work in my department so there are many times I cannot wear my ring and it’s really not that big a deal.

My husband isn’t allowed to wear his ring at work either, but I understand it’s for safety.  He’s not a jewelery person either, has never worn a ring or a necklace before so at first he would forget to wear it when we went out, but now he’s gotten good at putting it on when he leaves the house and he’s not working or golfing.  Nothing else we can do about it ๐Ÿ™

I can say that I usually put my 18K gold engagement ring on a silver necklace when working, and it doesn’t have any visible wear from it at all. You need a decent amount of pressure to make it wear, and since the ring won’t weight a lot, it’s not like it will be pulling down a lot on the necklace with a lot of force.

Also, your husbands ring (assuming it’s a typical metal band with no extra stones) is going to have the weight distributed evenly, so it will rotate around the chain and make the wearing even (and thus less noticeable) because it won’t be hanging at the same spot every time. My engagement ring is obviously top heavy so if anything the back would wear more when I wear it from a necklace, but that hasn’t happened in the 2 years I have been doing it!

Sounds like home is the best option at this point ๐Ÿ™
