…and I am so glad he did! Before he left for work, he came into the bedroom, flipped the light switch on, causing me to bolt upright in bed with a “huuuhhhh?” look on my face, to which he responded with a kiss and a “get up, baby”. I sat there in semi-shock until I dragged myself out, got dressed and headed off to the gym.
So glad I did! I only went for a half hour and walked on the treadmill, but I need that motivation to get back there. I have not been a very good gym rat since getting married. (Wah wah…)
Anyone else’s SO’s practice a little “tough love” to motivate?

Hahaha! We motivate each other when one is feeling blah about going to the gym. It’s good to have a helper, isn’t it?!!

@mrs_pudding_pop: We do it for eachother quite a bit! Sometimes you need that gentle reminder. I’m also pretty competitive, so I feel like if he goes (or my friends text me about their workout) then I have get a workout in too. 🙂

@MissusLane: It definitely is… I wish he’d have gone with me, but nooooooooo he had to go to work! lol
I’m planning to ask him to do that to me again tomorrow morning. Whatever works, right?

My Darling Husband “tough loves” me out of bed all the time. He’s an early bird and I’m a sleeper. I’m constantly late because I sleep in.
He’ll turn the lights on and – much worse – tickle my feet. That evil man!

@mrs_pudding_pop: Good for you for going to the gym in the AM! That is something I could never do

@cbgg: Oh no! I’d kill Darling Husband if he did THAT! I do not handle tickling well… LOL
@sweetchiquita12: I was always an evening exerciser, until Darling Husband got a job that required him to leave super early mornings. My schedule adjusted to where I loved getting the workout out of the way in the mornings, but with the wedding and honeymoon lag and this bitterly cold winter it’s been so tough to get myself up! He knows I’m not happy with this so this morning was definitely him trying to get me back to something I loved that made me feel bada**. 🙂

@mrs_pudding_pop: Good job going! Usually he motivates me but last night he was napping and I wouldn’t leave him alone until he woke up and came to the gym with me, he goes everyday and last night he was so tired he just watned to take the day off. After going he was thankful and would have regreted not going! Usually its the other way around!

Haha yes, Darling Husband and I work out together and it’s been great motivation! On days when I’m feeling lazy he’s always there to give me the push I need and vice versa. I have been so much better about sticking to a routine when I’m exercising with DH!

@mrs_pudding_pop: I wish somebody would turn the light on in the morning for me to get out of bed!
Fiance has to leave for work about 20 minutes before me in the morning, and I’m usually the one pushing him out of bed about 15 minutes before he needs to leave. I end up pushing snooze twice, and he doesn’t set an alarm at all… men!
I’m actually considering putting a timer on our floor lamp that is on the other side of the bedroom so that it will turn on about 5-10 minutes after my alarm goes off in the morning.
I would just need to remember to flip the timer off for Saturdays and Sundays!

I actually got out of bed of my own volition this morning, woot! Truth be told, I did want to get up to see DH’s reaction to the card I got hime…lol But I did go to the gym, 45 minutes. Go me!

My husband has done this – I like the tough love.
I need to get up by 4:45 if I want to work out. Alot of times I just snooze my alarm until its 5:30 and I need to get up to take a shower and leave – oops! But my husband has literally pushed me out of bed the past couple of mornings. Once I’m up, I’m up and I will go workout. I hate him but love him at the same time.

@mrs_pudding_pop: I have told my Darling Husband to do pretty much exactly that to me as soon as his parents get back from vacation. Right now I have been going to the gym after work, but when they get back I will want to go more in the mornings, so asked him to turn the light on and pull the covers off me to make me get up. 🙂 LOL.
