@Cory_loves_this_girl:  OMG! That drives me crazy. I am an independant business owner under a company that contracts with major retailers, celluar companies, etc. to provide cust serv reps who work from home. We have to take training classes to work for these companies, of course. And I had an instructor who said this several times. I was like NO, you did not boughten it! You bought it!

@Sparkidoodle:  GAH YES THERE IS NO G IN ONION.

Heh. Sorry. My Darling Husband does this and was utterly baffled when I pointed it out. “I say that? Really?” Yes, dear, you do. I wonder if it’s regional, too…his mom is from Iowa, and some of the Iowan/Nebraskan people I went to college with pronounced it that way, too.

@Sparkidoodle:  Can I ask where he’s from? My dad and all of his sisters say the same thing.. just wondering if they’re from the same neck of the woods? haha

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  Mine uses “seen” and “saw” incorrectly. It drives me BONKERS!

After he used one of the words inappropriately, I sat him down and explained to him why it was wrong, and what the correct way to use seen and saw is.

He’s college educated (has an Associates, working on his Bachelor’s) and I tried to explain to him that when he uses those words incorrectly, it makes him sound UNeducated. If he were on a job interview and used one of them wrongly, I can only imagine how the person interviewing him would react. I would not hire a person with a Bachelors that didn’t know when to use “seen” or “saw”.

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  My Darling Husband always says “fustration” and “libary,” but he doesn’t drop “r’s” in other words. It drives me nuts, although it is adorable.

My Fiance says “How was?” when asking about something. He insists it’s proper English but it drives me bonkers so I’ll stare at him until he adds the it. Usually something like, “How was?…………… it?” Haha

Oh I thought of another one!

I SWEAR he says “flustrated” instead of “frustrated”. He insists that he doesn’t, but I’m telling you it’s clearly an “l” that he uses instead of an “r”.

@MichiganGirl24:  Ah, the “I seen….” problem. Darling Husband says this too. My response is always, “Oh yeah? You seen the inside of a book lately?” (although now he beats me to it, and says it for me. Hahaha).

Part of me feels like we all need to just accept “I seen…” as acceptable slang, since it’s used so commonly (at least here, and from all types of people and levels of education. I’m from Southern CA), although I definitely agree with you!

@jackieee:  No! No accepting it!

You have seen something

OR

You saw something

It’s so easy! People are just lazy!

FI’s BFF also says them incorrectly. When they’re together and I get double doses of it, I want to scream!

@jackieee:  haha you’re probably right. I think we can at least try our damnedest to change our men. The rest of the population is a lost cause!
