Hi bees. Monday, Darling Husband was supposed to drop my engagement ring off at the jeweler to tighten the prongs since they got loose and I was worried the diamond would fall out. I reminded him to do it today since I called last night to find out the hours and he would be able to stop after work (it’s on his way home). He called me about 2 hours ago to say that he lost my ring. It’s not in his coat pocket where he thought it was. He asked me to stop by home (I’m babysitting tonight), so I went and couldn’t find it anywhere. He went back to the school where he teaches and no luck there.
He texted me to say that the only thing that’s making him feel better is that if it’s truly lost, he’ll replace it with a “better one”. I told him that thought makes me cry. No ring will be “better” than the one he presented to me when he asked me to spend my life with him.
I’m extra sad because I feel like I haven’t had much time with my gorgeous ring. I never wear it to work because it’s been damaged before (I already lost one of the pave diamonds in the band last spring). I’ve only been able to wear it on special occassions like dinners out. I’m so sad. I had planned to pass this ring down to my future granddaughters. I don’t know what I’ll do if it’s really gone.
Any of you been in this situation before? I’m also accepting prayers to St. Anthony if any bees are willing!
