Ladies, I’m so stressed over DH’s job right now, I don’t know what to do. Add to that, Darling Husband is extremely stressed over his job also…
Back in April, Darling Husband switched jobs. He went from one small company to another. We thought this was going to be his dream job, as it’s working in an industry that he really likes. However, he’s a project manager. At this job, it’s a 5 person company. Basically, it’s two guys who own the company, Darling Husband and two employees that he manages. In the time since Darling Husband has been hired, their business has exploded with new clients. Partly because Darling Husband took over from the old guy & reeled in a lot of the customers that were not happy with the prior project manager.
Fast forward to now…. There are still only 5 guys there to do the work of what was covered by 17 people at his old company. Darling Husband is working non-stop. One of his guys told him on Monday that he had worked the last 70 days straight & his wife is pissed. They’re all salaried, so of course no overtime is paid for any of this time….
Yesterday I got a text at 3:30 from Darling Husband, stating that they were all going to have to work through the night, because they had to meet a noon deadline today and a computer virus had infected them & they had to repair the damage to complete the project. They literally all stayed at the office all night working on this project. They have another tight deadline coming, due on Tuesday, that they haven’t even started on….
I know the wife of the guy mentioned above came to their office at about 6 yesterday & she was FURIOUS. She yelled at her husband, yelled at their boss & left. He’s literally on the verge of divorce.
I don’t know how my Darling Husband can keep up with this. Granted, this job switch brought in an extra $25k in salary (which we badly need). However, all the money in the world is not worth having your Darling Husband stay at the office all night, and work at home all weekend, and also be grumpy all of the time because of it.
I’ve told Darling Husband several times to start looking again. But, it’ll probably take a good bit of time to find something else with a comparable salary, if he doesn’t end up having to take a pay-cut.
Ugh…..I’m so over it all!
