So why not just get a new setting for the moissy you already have if you don’t like your diamond?

MissSweetiepie:  Since that’s the case, just stick with what you have for now and save up for something you’ll actually like.

MissSweetiepie:  I feel your pain! My Fiance spent $1.500 on my diamond. I don’t know the specs and don’t understand all that lingo lol but it’s .75 total weight. When he proposed I was over-the-moon happy with it. I loved it and it was perfect. I always told him I didn’t want him spending 5k on a ring and I’d be happy if he proposed with shoe string (and truly, I would be). But when I came on these boards and learned of all the alternatives I sort of regret it also. I mean, he could’ve paid less and gotten a bigger stone that looks just as gorgeous?!?! Whyyyy did I not know about this sooner?!! But, it is what it is and I still love my ring for what it represents. I’m sure once my wedding is over and I get away from all these websites, pinterest boards, and advertisments of big rings in my face I’ll go back to loving my ring.

No advice, just putting it out there that I feel exactly the same way you do! But FWIW, your ring is gorgeous (and bigger than mine! waaahh!)

MissSweetiepie:  It sounds lovely. It sounds like your having size envy and wish you had gone bigger with the stone. It depends I suppose how important it is to have a diamond but personally your specs sound great! And you got it for a good price. Maybe further on down the line you’d like to get an ‘upgrade’, keep the diamond and buy an Amora ring.

I also thought about getting a moissy but my husband was against of the idea buying a lab created gem stone with that much money. I know this is not everyone’s case, but to me, the reason I wanted a moissy is because I wanted a bigger stone that looks like a diamond.

If I have a moissy, I wouldn’t tell people what it is unless they ask. If people assume it as a diamond and not ask, I wouldn’t correct them. My husband thinks that is just same as passing a moissy off as a diamond. He thinks it’s just same as buying a very well made fake chanel bag and let people think it’s a real unless they ask (It’s just his opinion. There’s no right or wrong answer here. Everyone thinks differently). He asked if Im still willing to pay for a moissy even if it’s not a diamond look like stone and I’m not.

Again, there’s no right or wrong answer about altonative diamond stones. They are all beautiful and everyone has their own opinions. Everyone has a different reason why they choose a certain stone. I thought about getting a moissy b/c I wanted a big stone that looks like a real diamond and was going to let people belive it as a diamond unless they ask. And my husband purshade me that it’s not worth to pay that much money for a lab created stone to get a bigger size diamond look like a stone when it’s not a real diamond and especially when I have a diamond ring and I agreed on it. He also asked if I’m willing to let my diamond e-ring go and get a bigger size moissy. I thought about it and I said no. We agreed to buy a $40 cz ring that is big, pretty and sparkley and also a totally different design than my ering.

I think you had a good deal with your diamond. Later, you can get a moissy ring if you like a moissy and willing to pay for it. Or if you like a moissy more than a diamond, you can talk to your husband and maybe sell your diamond and get a moissy.
