I don’t personally have one but there are a couple bees who have gotten the mixed cut oval from some vendors. One I think got hers from StarsGem and I was impressed with her pictures. She seemed to really like it. Looks better than the straight crushed ice ovals which I’ve heard can look static or flat in outdoor sunlight.

Check out the StarsGem CADs board page 41 for her video

Hello! I’m the Bee with the video on page 41 of the Starsgem thread 🙂

Here are videos that I took of my ring in different lighting: https://vimeo.com/user92770499

My stone is actually a normal crushed ice oval, not the mixed cut, but I think at this size it’s a bit difficult to tell the difference. Let us know how it goes if you do end up going with the mixed cut! Would love to see pictures!

vc329 :  I totally thought you got the mixed cut!! I’m sorry.

Any updated thoughts now that you’ve had it a little while? I’m still contemplating an oval ☺️

lovemochi :  my jeweler just did a pear Harro ring recently that he showed me. It is brilliant cut in the middle and a sort of crushed ice look on the ends. It looks really beautiful and very diamond like IMO. He said it was his favorite cut over the brilliant and crushed ice versions.

hm2012 :   No problem at all 🙂

I love my ring! It can look a bit glassy in poor lighting but absolutely beautiful almost all the time. I dont think I would have been happy with a normal brilliant cut, but I’m so curious about the mixed cut!
