My other comment with things like this is to always consider taxes!! If something you win is 600$ or more you will pay taxes on it. The couple that won mine told a story about how they couldn’t afford their own diamond which is why they wanted this one.. and I hope someone told them they’d be getting a huge bill come April ๐Ÿ™

This is soooo ironic! i was JUST at Van Scoy in lancaster THIS MORNING picking out my (hopefully) future engagement ring! The sales associate told me about the diamond dash but unfortunately, i’m out of town this weekend, so i will miss it. I did, however, try on the ring they are giving away to see how it would look on me!! ๐Ÿ™‚   ๐Ÿ™‚   ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s princess cut…beautiful…the size is over a carat for the stone, i believe; band is a thin band of diamonds. Very nice. Hope one of you girls gets to participate in this event!

Ahh! I am doing the Diamond Dash in Lancaster tomorrow also! It should be great fun, even if we don’t win. I watched tons of videos of other dashes they did in other states. Good Luck!

Did you guys have fun at the Lancaster dash??  All of these diamond dashes are run by a company called SCVNGR.  I work for SCVNGR and put on these awesome events every week.  So glad to see all of the interest on the message board!  Keep your ears open because we do a lot more than diamond dashes.  We also do dashes for a new car and even a downpayment on a new house….pretty awesome!

Hi Everybody!!!
Im doing a diamond dash in a week, and I REALLY want to win!!!! My bf is going to propose then Im sure, and I really would like such a beautiful diamond. and what a story for our grandkids! For those of you who have done the race before, could any of you tell me what to expect? What kinds of clues did they give? Did you have to do them in a particular order? Were there bottlenecks to compete for clues? Any tips for winning? Id love any info at all, as I really would love to be engaged next!!!

I have had a few emails/PMs about this since I said I was in one.. if people are still looking at this, I’ll share what I’ve been sharing with them!

If you have any other questions I'm MORE than happy to answer.

We had a map and that was nice. It was in Des Moines; we used a map of the downtown area. Keep in mind you won't have to go "in" very far anywhere- they put all the answers near the street or sidewalk since they know you're biking or walking. If you're looking to be competitive, you have to bike. Walking won't cut it! Also after the first few clues you'll usually see a cluster of people at wherever an answer is if that is helpful; but they randomize the order and its done in points.

always make sure the text answers go thru! the network can get jammed, so just keep sending it until you get the response

don't shout out answers if one of you runs up and the other doesn't. this is hard to explain, but you get so into it and take turns when it makes sense.. but we definitely gave at least 5 people a freebie when my fiance hollered out so I could text :)

lots of the clues were relatively simple; don't overthink it! also, obvious but true, keep an eye out for a small group of people. the clues are randomized, but it is a giveaway if 4 people on bikes are nearby one spot

have fun with it. some of it is just luck, what you happen to know about your city and what you don't. some couples were yelling crying etc. etc. and it was just kind of pathetic!!

lastly, i used google 411 a lot. it is actually defunct now :( :( but a similar "app" or whatever would be useful to find specific addresses if you have a hunch about a place.
