Wondering if anyone has any experience with diamond next to moissanite as a wedding set? My engagement ring is a half carat princess cut solitaire, and I would love to have a moissanite stone eternity ring for my wedding band for ethical and financial reasons. I am not interested in passing the stones off as a diamond, as I am completely aware they are a separate stone in themselves however I am wondering if it might look out of place next to a diamond?
Thank you for your time 🙂

@Kriddlelouise: i would think it would look different next to each other not in a good or bad way moissanite always looks like it has a yellow/green tint to me when i see it. that could be just me but thats how i know when i see a moissanite stone.

I’ve heard lots of moissanite owners say it looks great and no different but here’s a comparison pic from BTD. The whiter one is cz, but a warmer color cz I believe. Still, I can tell a huge difference and I don’t care for it personally. If you’re not bothered by the green/yellow/warmth then it might be a good option for you. I personally am too color sensitive.

@Kriddlelouise: moissanite is a lovely man made jewel !so affordable. However there have been bees who posted that there cam be a noticable difference in color next to a diamond. Do a search on here. Jtv has some lovely moissanite bands.
dont forget to post a pic when u have it. sorry for all typos, on my phone.

I just ordered my forever brilliant wedding band and I have a 1.5 c diamond princess cut e-ring with a halo (no clue what the TCW is). I should be getting it in a few weeks – I will send you picture when I get it!

I have a moissanite center with diamond sidestones, but I don’t think the sidestones are very white (maybe G-J?) and my moissy is 6mm.

If the stones on the eternity band are on the smaller side, I don’t think you’ll see much difference. The differences between the two become more noticeable the bigger you go.

actually, when a moissanite is pretty small (like they would be in a wedding band), they don’t show any color at all. you also can’t even tell that they’re cut differently or really see any double refraction (I’ve looked for it).
I think from what I heard, anything under 4mm will be like that.
my band has 2mm moissanites, and my e-ring diamond is an E (colorless). you can’t tell the difference at all. when I took my rings into my jeweler for work, she was pretty amazed.
Edit: what is awesome about a moissanite wedding band is that it will sparkle like flawless diamonds. I think that if I had a slightly flawed diamond band of the same size, it would have cost more and not be nearly as sparkly as my moissanite band. and it only cost me $450!

@nerdybird: +1 makes sense to me ; ) i notice right away the bigger the moissanite stone is the more i see the yellow/green sparkle.

@Kriddlelouise: I have the opposite. I have a moissanite gemstone engagement ring next to a diamond wedding band. They look wwonderful together. I have a FB moissanite and it matches quite well with the diamonds.

@Kriddlelouise. well, my ring came in today and it is HORRIBLE. I will take pictures shortly. I ordered forever brilliant from moissantebridal.com. The stones are cloudy, off color and have almost NO fire. They look plastic next to my engagement ring. Horrible. 🙁
