This is an old post but I found it helpful when I was ordering the gold ring. Maybe my reply will help some future bees 🙂
The platinum rings have G/H diamonds. The gold ring has moissanites. I am particular and have examined them closely in various lighting conditions. At this size you really can’t tell any difference. Of course, it may depend on the size and quality of the moissanites. It is also possible that the contrast with the yellow gold makes the moissanites look whiter.
For reference: The platinum eternity ring is 1CT and just over 2mm wide. I’m a size 6. The gold ring is 18k hammered mirror finish and is 2.2mm wide with 10 1.7mm moissanites. The first picture was taken outdoors on a sunny day (the one where I am also wearing a thin rose gold spacer). The second one was taken indoors (without the rose gold spacer).
Also, just a heads-up: If you are thinking of doing something similar, please be aware that the rings will damage each other. The gold ring will take the brunt since it is softer than platinum. The safest thing to do is solder your wedding rings but I personally did not want to do that. In my case, the sharp edges of the diamonds on the platinum shared-prong eternity ring saw through the prongs of the solitaire.
