I have a family diamond also, but if we didn’t have this diamond and couldn’t afford to buy one, I would have probably gotten some type of sapphire. Sapphire is also my birthstone, although I wouldn’t use a blue one for an enagement ring. (Just a personal preference – I’m weird about having to match my jewelry to my outfit.) I have no problem wearing man-made stones in my other jewelry. I just want my wedding set to have natural stones.

My ring set is .40 ctw, and I’m perfectly happy with that. I would definitely want a diamond if it wasn’t for these ones, but I don’t care about the size.

I love my diamond and would only choose diamond as my e-ring.. ;however, I wouldn’t mind buyinga moissy for RHR in the future in rose gold setting

No. If I couldn’t have a diamond, I would have opted for just a simple gold wedding band. In all honesty, I love the look of just a simple gold band.

It would have to be a diamond for me. From what I’ve read about moissanites, I don’t think it’s for me.

If I didn’t have my diamond I would want a sapphire (yellow or blue or peach *drool*)

If no diamond (and no black diamond lol) I would have chosen a yellow sapphire like the previous poster! I ordered moissy earrings to see them in person after all the hype on the bee but I didnt like them :-/

I have a diamond and generally prefer the look of diamonds over moissanite. But since it was a gift from my fiance I would have loved it no matter what.

I’ve thought about Moissanite earrings! Did you take any pics of them? I’m curious 🙂
If we couldn’t have gotten a diamond,I probably would have wanted a deep blue sapphire or an emerald e-ring. Moissanite as an e-ring isn’t for me.

I didnt, sorry. This was over a year ago. I can only describe them (they were studs, like .5 each) as looking like they had a cellophane coating. I guess this is the “colored” sparkle other bees talk about, but it was too … irredescent for me!

If I didn’t have my diamond I would have picked a sapphire instead of a substitute diamond-ish substance like a Mossanite or CZ or Swarovski crystals or whatever else.

No, I just have no interest in moissanite.

Yes. I honestly don’t care about real diamonds at all. I just care about how clear, sparkly and strong the stone is. it’s not a question of what we could afford, it’s just that I think the market prices are outrageous. but before I got engaged, I assumed that diamond alternatives were not good enough to be forever stones. If I had known about moissy, I would have asked for one.
I did get moissy for my wedding band. I love it.

Natural stones were very important to me because my degree is in geology, I love collecting and learning about minerals, and it’d just be really cool to own the unique and beautiful mineral diamond – and wear a pretty specimen of it every day! If diamonds weren’t in the cards for me I’d opt for another natural stone. Probably a white sapphire because I prefer colorless, and sapphire/corundum is the next hardest mineral which is good for everyday hand-jewelry.

I think moissy is beautiful however I wouldn’t want a lab created stone as my ering..I wouldn’t mind having a moissanite right hand ring or earrings..but as for an ering I would probably have gone with a peach sapphire or morganite in a white sapphire halo if I didnt have the option of diamonds.
