Most well cut 1ct diamonds will be around 6.5mm in diameter, and if you check out ideal and excellent cut diamonds on websites such as blue nile, you’ll get a realy good feel for diameter, depth, table, etc., that will help you  ensure the purcahse of a good quality stone. 🙂

I agree, it should be around 6.5, but try not to judge the cut quality based on the MM measurements alone, you’ll have to judge it based on the angles and certification cut grade. It’s not like a 6.5mm diamond is automatically an ideal cut

For example, here’s one of the best cut stones you’ll find, 1.002ct that’s 6.42×6.46×3.98mm
