So, before we even get started on another 3 page diamond nexus is not a real diamond argument, we want to say that yes we are aware of this and we dont care.
My question is does anyone have any issue over the quality of the band? We have found the e-ring we like, and it just happens to be an exclusive diamond nexus design. With that said, we are more than comfortable paying that much for the ring, regardless of if it has a CZ or not. We are just concerned with the setting itself being durable.
The plan is to buy the ring WITH the cz/diamond nexus stone as the price for the setting alone versus one with the stone is so close its hardly worth it to just get the setting. We will then keep the diamond nexus stone in there, but if we have any problems with it, or arent happy with the quality, then later on switch it out for a a real diamond or moissonite.
This whole theory goes to crap if the ring isnt going to last, thus the question on if anyone can vouch for a Diamond Nexus setting quality?

I would check into their return policy, and have it checked by a jeweler. To my knowledge, no one has mentioned the settings in their complaints on here…so I can’t say for sure. Out of curiosity, which setting was it? I’ve seen a few of their designs in other places. And if it has side stones (especially small ones like pave) you might run into issues.

Also, check on the better than diamond boards, I think I’ve seen people with DNL rings there. They were unhappy about the stones, but I can’t say for the bands. I’ve often wondered this myself to be honest.

I have the tiffany style solitare from there. My only complaints are
1) easily scratched (to be fair I rocked climbed with it on so kinda totally my fault)
2) the prongs are sharp as heck
3) other then that is comfy and shiny , also the stones are beautiful regardless of wether or not they are real

We were looking at a few of the designs, but the one that stands out is the Maya Costa.
Yes, it has small stones around it, I guess they would be part of the risk. I am not as concerned about the small stones quality as they can be replaced if we arent happy with it. To be honest, the ring is pretty inexpensive, but we like the design.
My intuition is that we would have better luck going with Diamond Nexus for the band over someone else trying to copy it. I am sure there is a learning curve to making this design and I would not want to be the guinea pig for someone trying to copy it.

I think my concern would be replacing the small stones, or rather if it could be done and if it would be cost effective, a jeweler would know better. It seems like that design could be a hassle for jewelers to work around, but I could be wrong. It does seem like a high amount of money to pay for just a setting, I would talk to a local jeweler and see what they say. They may be able to build you a ring like this for MUCH less. It’s worth a talking to, at least.

I have several DNL rings.. you can see the pictures here via FACEBOOK
My major complaint w/ DNL is the quality of their stones.. Unless you are going w/ their PETITE collection.. the gold setting/mounting are pretty durable & much sturdier than the typical jewerly story mounting..
They used to replace lost/loose stones for free.. but lately, they started to charge shipping/service for the repairs..
I encountered so many issues w/ their stones that I have paid for an independant lab test.. loose stone purchased by the LAB company.. which turned out to be CZ.
If at a later date, you decide to replace the center stone w/ something else.. by anyone other than DNL touch/alter the setting/stone.. VOIDS their warranty !!
It is my understanding that that micro-set stones are also CZ..
& yes, I have also thought of keeping my DNL pieces due to the fact that they were purchased several yrs ago & the price of gold have gone up so much.. & possibly replace the center stones..
It is my understanding that CZ are heat sensitive, prone to scratching, pourous & tend to attract oils/dirt more…
So the choice is still yours… I recently wore my DNL rings out & though after knowing the secret truth behind the stones/company.. DNL rings/earring/bracelet/pendants/etc just don’t sparkle/shine as much for me anymore… I clean mine daily to bring out the fire.. Those who see my rings love the setting/sparkle of the stone & can’t believe it is fake.. (But knowing truth just KILLS the joy/excitement/love for the pieces I spent so much time picking/dreaming of)…
To me.. it’s like finding out that your husband had sex w/ someone else years ago.. that doesn’t take away the love/history you shared.. but it does tarnish the memories/thoughts of him.. (just a mere example !!)
