I am a fan of flashy pieces LOL, so afraid I don’t have this issue!  How long have you had the ring?  If you just got it, maybe knowing that it’s an heirloom will grow on you, and make you feel better about the size.  Knowing that it has sentimental value and that it wasn’t bought just for you to go flashing around and showing off, ya know?

I don’t have the same issue, but only because my husband and I looked for my ring together.  Your ring would definitely be too much for us!  A long term solution would be to look for a wedding band you want to wear alone, and stop wearing the e-ring after the wedding. (Except for special family occasions, of course!)

My girlfriend is the same way but he bought her a large stone.  She just wears it when they are all dressed up.  She wears just the wedding band most days.  Maybe you could do something like that.

I think the other girls have some really good points. It may grow on you and if it doesn’t, I like the idea of getting a wedding band you love and just wearing that most of the time.

i have a 1.9 ct solitare and at first i felt the same way…but it’s totally grown on me and it doesn’t feel big anymore…just “normal” 🙂 sometimes i forget about it completely until someone gushes over it! i’d say maybe wear it everyday for a week or two and see how it feels, then go from there.  congrats on your engagement!

Maybe since you don’t normally wear much jewelery anything would feel weird.  I’d wear it for a few weeks, and if it doesn’t feel more comfortable then I would just wear a wedding band.  That is a big stone, I can see how that would be odd!

I have a large stone too, but its set lower, which doesn’t make it feel as big.  Is your diamond set really high?  If so, perhaps you could have a lower setting.

I think it might grow on you eventually…and it is so awesome to have a family heirloom!!!
