@baileyjosephine:  OMG that is amazing. i have asked for a 2.5ct oval 9×7 moisey and a setting similar to the pic I posted before. I’ve been worried that I won’t like it, or that it will look weird. Seeing your ring gives me some good vibes about my choice. I love your ring.

@carah2520:  I ordered a diamond and Amora moissanite, and they do have different properties. If you look at my post history, you can see the thread I posted with a lot of comparison photos.

If you have a moissanite in a setting by itself, I doubt any but someone with a keen eye could tell it’s not a diamond. Next to a diamond though, it’s really obvious it’s a different stone. The cut is different, its colour looks near-colourless but with a definite tint (as opposed to the real near-colourlessness of a diamond), and there is a depth that a diamond has that moissanite lacks.

Like I said, if you have the moissy on its own or with moissy side stones, these qualities aren’t obvious, but next to a diamond, they do stand out.

@carah2520:  I have inherited stones (diamonds) from both sides in my engagement ring, and it was a challenge to match, even among diamonds. You may prefer earrings or a diamond band, as PP have suggested. If you decide to try blending, be sure to post a pic! I know we would all love to see the combo!

@carah2520:  I have a 2ct Amora that I have for sale, unused and enhanced to an H color, $800+shipping on Ebay. Moissys are so beautiful, even if you are not interested in mine; I wouldn’t hesitate in wearing one like it was a diamond. I have some pics of my diamond side by side with the Amora if you would like to see; search Amora+moissanite and I should be the only hit. I would post them on here for you, but I am at work right now-sorry, and congrats!

Ive never seen a moissanite in person but ive seen tons of pictures on here and I think its somewhat noticeable that the facets are cut differently also moissy tends to have a black hole or fish eye (in pictures anyway)..however if I didnt know what moissanite was I would definitely assume it was a diamond but set in between two genuine diamondsit may be nonoticeable depending on the diamonds size. Color may be an issue as well

My center stone is a 2 ct diamond.  F color VS2 clarity.
