@HannahGrace:  Really kinda snarky don’t you think?

Op no I don’t even think about it, as a pp said is someone wants to mug you they are going to mug you no matter if you are wearing a diamond ring or not.

I mean, it depends where you are walking…

It’s not super common for people to run up and try to steal your diamond ring off your finger in the middle of a restaurant. If you were going downtown or traveling abroad, maybe I’d switch my ring around or opt to wear just my wedding band.

No, I’ve never worried about it. I live and work in a generally safe place though so I’ve never really had any concerns about mugging at all.

I don’t wear my e ring when on vacation even here in the states. I’m concerned about being mugged but also about having too much fun and forgetting where I placed it. Or placing it in the safe and leaving for home and forgetting to take it out. Think I’m paranoid much?

@BrideofChrist:   The one (and I hope only) time I was held up at gunpoint I was not wearing any rings or carrying any money.   If you are worried about being a victim of crime on account of a ring, then don’t wear one, or wear a cheapie and say here, take it.

I suppose a person could never have anything nice for fear that someone else would take it from them, but what kind of way to live is that? Certain cars are more likely to be stolen, too, and that doesn’t stop people from buying them. I guess I take reasonable precautions (I don’t live anywhere where muggings are common, I avoid dangerous areas), but I don’t let worry control my life. There are plenty of people wearing much more expensive things than I have, so overall I don’t think I stand out more than anyone else.

Almost every woman I see is wearing jewelry, most are wearing engagement/wedding rings.  I’m not sure why anyone would single me out for mine!  It’s not like I’m wearing Beyonce’s ring or anything LOL.

@BrideofChrist:  not really.  If I go to a bad part of town I usually flip it around.

@BrideofChrist:  I know that you are not a nun.   I was using nuns as an example of people with a religious calling who have plainer bands and therefore are less likely to be at risk of getting mugged for the value of their jewelry.  I edited the post now that I see that it was taken in the wrong way.  I apologize.
